Here are seven things about Marshel...
1. I will be married to Gordon 29 years on April 24th. We started dating when we were only 14. He was my first love. But he moved after we had been "going together" for only a year. We did not see one another again until we were 22 yrs old. We immediately moved in together that very night and have two children, Jessie 26, and Dewayne 25. During the time we were apart we had a relationship with someone else and both have children from those ex's. I have Philesha, 32 and he has Daniel, 30.
2. I have four grandchildren. Lesha's Matthew and Haley. Jessie's Mythias and Natellie. And Gordon has one by Daniel. Gabriel. I have four dogs and 6 house cats and some outdoor cats.
3. I found the Lord as my Savior when I was 18, but did not turn my life over to the Lord faithfully until I became a member of Pryor Missionary Baptist Church and rededicated my life to Jesus Christ. I have been a member of PMBC for 27 years. I have been teaching all age groups at the church.
4. I got my teaching license 12 years ago. I am the director and master teacher of Foundations of Faith Christian Learning Center. I truly believe the Lord gave me the gift of teaching and I love and enjoy teaching so much.
5. I am obtaining my masters in business administration from University of Phoenix (online). I have been a student since 1991 and see no end to my college career. I believe that no one is too old to learn and I love being a student.
6. I am Filipino. My husband is Native American. My oldest daughter's father is German. My family is multi-nationality. I am 51 yrs old but have no intention on retiring anytime soon to "being old". My family are so important to me and they are keeping me busy. I don't plan on getting old yet.
7. I love, love, love to journal. It is a part of my life that has been constant and faithful since I was a young girl writing in her diary. I believe in literacy and my students have been exposed to journaling as well as my grandchildren. I will not let writing with a pen or other writing utensil become a dying art. Handwriting skills will not die as long as I have a part in someone's life. You can also visit another blog I have developed to help other journaling friends with their writing. It is a prompt blog. Visit it at http://www.mprompt2s4journaling.blogspot.com/
The person I think should win the "most knowledgeable blogger" I know is my friend, Tami. She is a member of the church I go to. I have known her and her family since her sister and my daughter were in HeadStart together. She is really into blogging and book reviews. Her family is very important to her and she is one of the greatest moms I know. I not only call her my friend, I also call her my little sister in Christ. When you visit her blog you will be amazed!! Check her blog at www.thismomsdelight.com
I would also like for you to visit another of my church members, Narita. She is our pastor's wife. She is the most special person I know and I call her friend. I am blessed to have her in my life as well as all of our church members. She is our mentor and just the most caring person. Her shoulders are so strong...One thing she is especially good at is book reviews. I believe she has given hundreds of book reviews. (I know she owns hundreds of books for which she lovingly shares with us when we are in need of a particular book). You can read her book reviews at www.e-pmbc.com and click on Narita's Book Reviews. Enjoy her reviews and get to know her too.
My friend Jo recently created a blog, www.lostinthought865.blogspot.com. She is a member of an online group I belong to Christian Journaling. She contributes many posts to our group. She writes poetry and enjoys journaling and using prompts. Her blog is very inviting. I know that we will become lifetime friends and bloggers too. Visit Jo and get to know her as I will too.
Now it is your turn to give the award to someone and let us get to know them through their blogs. May you be blessed today by enjoying God's love and His word. Marshel
