touched me so. Yesterday we took our grandchildren "out to eat". We went to a fundraiser dinner for our town's Christian high school. Afterwards we brought the children to the house so they could see the newest addition to our pet family. Our cat, Buttons (a calico), had 5 kittens four days ago. She had 2 calico, one solid black, and two white with colored tails only. We let the kids hold them. There was a lot of oohs and aahs. And the giggles from the kittens rubbing up on their faces. They are so soft like cotton balls. Anyway, there were many questions and comments. But what impressed me the most was my grandson's comment. He said, "I never knew kittens could be so little." We have had them hold the kittens in the past after their eyes were open and they were a little bigger. But this is the first time we let them hold them right after being born. Why did his comment touch me so? Because I realized I was a part of a new learning experience. That I was able to be a part of a new memory. I was experiencing him holding a baby kitten that little for the first time and I could see it through his eyes and his smile. That experience will stay with him for a very long time. I was a part of my young grandson's new memory and that touched me so.
What memory have you made today? Share with me too. Marshel
Posting when I can; praying I can post more often. Wanting to develop a better blog; praying I have more opportunities to turn this into the blog it is meant to be.
